How to save money on kid's clothing

Today, it is more important than ever to try to save money on everything you purchase. When it comes time to buy clothing for your children, there are ways in which to save money. The following tips will help you get started. It’s probably easier than you think.

Shop at second-hand stores.  There used to be somewhat of a stigma, in regard to consignment shopping. Fortunately, that is no longer the case. In truth, wonderful bargains can be found there.

You might be surprised to find that many items, purchased at a secondhand store, are brand-new with the price tags still attached.   As a rule, merchandise is delivered several times a week.  So there will always be great deals waiting for you.

Even better, many secondhand stores run sales that allow you to fill an entire bag with clothing, for one set price… usually around the five or six dollar range.

Two more tips on how to save money on food

Try to limit the purchase of ready to eat meals, such as frozen entrĂ©es and deli items. While these are certainly convenient, they will cost you much less if you make them yourself. Remember, there is nothing better than a home-cooked meal!  In the next week or two make double dinners.  Serve one and freeze one.  You'll soon have a nice selection of quick and easy frozen entrees at a fraction of the price you'd pay at the grocers.

Shop the outside of the store where the produce, bakery, dairy and meat products are without crisscrossing back and forth through the store.  Grocery store managers spread out the basics of eggs, bread, meat and vegetables so you're forced to pass by aisles with high priced snacks, cookies, and juices.

How to save money on groceries: 2 tips

Higher prices at the grocery store are something that we are all concerned about. At times, it seems to be getting worse instead of better. But, there are things you can do that will help you save money. The following tips will go a long way in reducing your grocery bill.  You'll save  money and your family may not even notice the difference.

Tip number one. Make it a habit to use coupons. If you’ve never used them before, it may seem a bit time consuming at first. But you will soon learn that it is definitely worth the time and effort.
Depending on how much time you can devote to locating, clipping and organizing coupons you can easily save 50% or more every time you go shopping. Believe it or not, it is not unheard of to save as much as 80%.

There are many coupon clipping services, online; making it is possible to obtain the coupons you need for just pennies apiece.

It is important to note, that it is illegal to purchase coupons. However, when you obtain coupons from a clipping service what you are actually paying for is for the time it takes to locate, clip and send out your order.  The coupons themselves are free.  Take advantage of double and triple coupon days at your local grocers.

Shop around by visiting two or more stores to get the best value for your coupons.

Tip number two. Make sure you understand your stores policy in regard to ‘2 for 1’ or ’10 for $10’ sales. In the majority of cases you can still get the sale price if you only buy one. For example, if something is 2/$5 you will be able to purchase one for $2.50.

The same holds true in regard to ’10 for $10’ sales. If you only need four like products, your price will be $4.  Many stores that run this particular type of sale allow you to mix and match, as well.

Buy 'buy one get one free' is not the same thing as '2 for 1'.  Often if you buy just one you pay full price.  If you're not sure you can use both of your 'buy get one free deal' it's not much of a bargain.
